SIGNED AGREEMENT WITH BURBANK

  • An agreement (“ENRA”) giving MHA the Exclusive Right to Negotiate with Burbank Housing was approved by MHA’s Board and signed on April 24th.
  • The ENRA is the next step in the predevelopment process of GGV. It serves as a roadmap for MHA and for Burbank, outlining a year-long process as the parties progress towards a Master Development Agreement.
  • This process includes due diligence, preliminary design, cost analysis, resident input, and community engagement.
  • Burbank will lead and manage the due diligence and conceptual design phase, while MHA provides funding to cover predevelopment costs.

ALL GGV RESIDENTS GET TO STAY AT GGV

  • HUD Notices PIH-2019-09 and PIH 2019-23 protect residents during the conversion of a community from Public Housing to Project-based: no resident of GGV can be involuntarily displaced or forced to move due to the redevelopment and conversion of GGV.
  • If a resident is incorrectly housed before conversion from public housing or becomes incorrectly housed at conversion, they may remain in their unit until an appropriate-sized unit becomes available.
  • MHA and the GGV Resident Council have agreed that incorrectly housed residents with the longest stay at GGV would move last.
  • MHA can grant exceptions to occupancy standards based on health, age, sex, disability, medical or employment needs, right to return and other circumstances as outlined in HUD 24 CFR 982.402(b)7.
