Dear Section 8 Participants,
Marin Housing is recruiting three new Resident Advisory Board (RAB) members from the Section 8 program to serve as resident leaders. The role of the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) is to work with Marin Housing Authority (MHA) providing comments and recommendations related to the development of the Agency’s Annual Plan.[1]
RAB and MHA work in a collaborative relationship to review the Agency Plan including goals and objectives, lease provisions, grievance, and pet policies, etc... Board members also review capital funding budgets, public housing assessment scores, revitalization plans for public housing and other policy concerns of the residents in public housing.
This is an important way to participate in your community, interact with staff and other resident leaders and provide leadership and direction.
The board meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Trainings and presentations will be provided throughout the year. The original term is for three-years with a two-year extension option.
The deadline to complete and apply is Friday, May 31, 2022. Applicants may be interviewed by a panel of current RAB members in May or June 2022.
We hope you will consider this opportunity to serve on the RAB and work in collaboration with MHA staff.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Carroll
