Connecting Locally and Nationally: Hill Day 2025

On March 12, our Executive Director Kimberly Carroll and Tenant Commissioners Sarah Canson and Homer Hall took part in NAHRO's annual Capitol Hill Day, held during the 2025 Washington Conference. Hill Day offers NAHRO members from across the country the chance to meet directly with lawmakers and discuss pressing issues related to affordable housing and community development.

This year, NAHRO partnered with Advocacy Associates to coordinate meetings with congressional offices on behalf of conference attendees. Our delegation was proud to represent our community and bring the voices of residents directly to Capitol Hill.

One highlight of the day was our meeting with U.S. Congressman Jared Huffman, where we shared local stories and advocated for continued federal support of housing programs. The opportunity to engage in face-to-face dialogue with legislators was both meaningful and energizing for our team.
