Guidelines for Inherited Tenants

Persons that purchase a building cannot evict existing voucher program tenants occupying the building who have a current lease and are in compliance with the HCV Program rules and regulations.

Change in Ownership

As a provision to the HAP Contract you must not assign the HAP Contract to a new Owner without the prior consent of the MHA. Therefore you must notify the MHA by submitting a notice in writing when a participating property has been sold or a change of ownership has occurred.

Change in Management

When you change the property manager of a participating property, you are required to report a change in management in writing to MHA.
